Silver Bullets Podcast — Matthew Baldwin Transfer and OSU Spring Game

Ohio State Podcast Silver Bullets Podcast Ohio State Football

We’re back for our mighty Spring Game edition of the Silver Bullets Podcast and boy did we fall into some news by recording on an unusual night. Matthew Baldwin is pulling a Tate Martell and jumping into the transfer portal. This isn’t good for Ohio State but what does it really mean? And why is the time right for this move now? We do have a potential name for a replacement although you never know how these things will go.

After the quarterback talk we settle into some discussion of the notable performances and surprises from the OSU Spring Game. There were some surprise defensive stars and some less surprising freshman performances. Overall, the Baldwin news derailed our discussion of the QB battle, but that’s OK. There’s still a lot to unpack.

Finally, we dive into a little hoops discussion about Kaleb Wesson’s decision and what is likely to come for Chris Holtmann’s basketball Buckeyes. And hey, why not honor one of the most storied Ohio State coaching careers of all time (and no, not in a revenue sport).

  1. What pisses me off more than anything, and the whole transfer portal does its fair share of causing the blood to boil, is the fact that even though Ohio State honored their commitment recruiting him even though he tore an ACL. A LOT of money and time is spent on getting guys to enter the program, and then they turn around and spit in everyones face. C O W A R D S. who lack any and all loyalty.

Ohio State doesn’t promise anyone playing time. They offer the opportunity to compete for playing time. You want to be a starter………..frigging earn it. If you can’t earn it at Ohio State, what the hell makes these clowns think they deserve to be a starter anywhere else?
