The-Ozone Fall Practice Insider: Briefings from Scrimmage Day

Ohio State Buckeyes Practice

COLUMBUS — Ohio State held its eighth practice of fall camp today, which also happened to be their first Saturday scrimmage of camp as well.

The media was allowed to watch the first 20 minutes of practice today, but before the scrimmage actually began, reporters and cameras were ushered out of practice.

There was not much to glean from the jogging and stretching, and nothing was all that different from previous practice reports this month.

The injured Buckeyes today were some of the usual suspects, including redshirt freshman wide receiver Kamryn Babb, true freshman safety Ronnie Hickman, and fifth-year senior Justin Hilliard.

Also spending some time jogging off to the side were redshirt freshman running back Master Teague, fifth-year senior receiver Austin Mack, sophomore linebacker Teradja Mitchell, and freshman tight end Cormontae Hamilton. None of these four injuries are believed to be serious.

Fifth-year senior defensive tackle Jashon Cornell continues to work with the ones, with sophomore Taron Vincent and junior Haskell Garrett are behind him.

Redshirt freshman walk-on running back Xavier Johnson was working with the receivers today, possibly at H-back as he was drilling behind redshirt freshman H-back Jaelen Gill.

Today, the strong safeties were drilling with the cornerbacks, which makes sense because they often play over top of the slot receivers.

Junior cornerback Marcus Williamson practiced today in this drill, but followed second-team strong safety Amir Riep. Does this mean Williamson is now a safety?

Here are some videos and photos from today.
