Fear The Darkness: That’s the theme of this week’s official Ohio State football game trailer.
The Buckeyes are hosting their first primetime home game in more than two years this weekend, and they are steering into that theme.
The Bucks will be wearing all-black uniforms, and are asking their crowd to come dressed in black as well.
But that’s not the only thing they’re trying to drive home this week. During the video, strength coach Mickey Marotti talks about the importance of being relentless and finishing their opponents off.
“We play hard, we play smart. But without a doubt, we play tough. Put your foot on the gas pedal, press down as hard as you can, do not take your foot off until we sing Carmen Ohio,” Marotti says.
“You punish them again and again and again and again.”
This week’s hype trailer is on that many Buckeye fans will probably want to watch again and again and again and again.
‘Do the Mariotti’ this Saturday, Buckeyes!
I’m going to miss seeing the iconic, shiny, silver helmets against the fall night sky! I hate these gimmicky uniforms. Blue-blood programs don’t need to do this! And yes, Ohio State is a blue-blood program. Your traditional attire is what sells, not new fashion statements. This isn’t Oregon or some mid-tier program!
Charlie, don’t you know Alabama loses tons of recruits because they fail to wear these gimmicky unis??
I guess Larry Gant is going to have a breakout game??? 🙂
