Part of getting ready for The Ohio State Buckeyes game for me is to scrounge through the media guide of that week’s opponent. The tidbits of information turned up usually don’t amount to much of anything other than some trivial knowledge you can use to impress the others at your local tailgate/watch party/living room.
Of course, UNLV is not beyond any connection whatsoever to Ohio. Legendary UNLV basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian was a proud son of Ohio, from an area known to send a running back like this guy or this guy to Ohio State. UNLV’s roster does not have any players from the state of Ohio on it, while the Buckeyes landed two prominent…
As I sat there on Saturday in my mom’s basement as the best blogger/writer this side of the Sons of Schmidt, it really was difficult to figure out if the Big Ten conference is any good. Sure, there are four teams in the Top 10, but there is like 60% of the Top-10 filled by NON-B1G teams! That certainly can’t be any good.

U! G! L! Y! Can The Sons of Schmidt find an Ohio State alibi? It’s time for reflection to figure out what went wrong against Oklahoma for the Buckeyes. Brandon was in Columbus this week to watch the game live, so Mike had to bring in a special guest host this week for episode 9 of The Sons of Schmidt Podcast on the Ozone Radio Network.
Clair Crawford and Mark Rogers preview Saturday night’s matchup between No. 5 Oklahoma and No. 2 Ohio State.
A proud son of Ohio, hailing from Point Pleasant, former Civil War general and the 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant would be a strong advocate for as much advanced scouting of the enemy as possible before a battle was engaged. While I have the utmost confidence in Urban Meyer and his strong staff of assistants…
Mike and I had a discussion on The Sons of Schmidt a few weeks ago where we were talking about the “Most Overrated” and “Most Underrated” conferences in America heading into the season. My response was that I really wanted to put the Big Ten for each of these categories. I feel like the top end of the B1G will be considered…
