We are once again smack dab in the middle of NFL Mock Draft Season, so I thought I would go through some of the more prominent mock drafts and see where some familiar names appeared — or didn’t appear. I went through seven different mock drafts — CBS Sports, Walter Football, USA Today, Todd McShay, Sports Illustrated…
The disappointment of not making the College Football Playoffs has already been addressed to the point where it no longer has any meaning. What still does have meaning, however, is Ohio State’s upcoming game against USC, as well as the accomplishments that this team has already achieved. There is one final opportunity for…
Urban Meyer’s ideal offensive game is 250 yards rushing and 250 yards passing for the Buckeyes. He wants balance because balance makes an offense more difficult to anticipate and more difficult to defend. Ohio State managed to hit that mark in five of their first seven games, but haven’t reached it in any of their last six games.
On Saturday, the Ohio State defense will be playing against their thirteenth starting quarterback this season. This time, however, they’ll be facing a lefty. Wisconsin sophomore southpaw Alex Hornibrook is currently No. 2 in the Big Ten in pass efficiency (155.93) behind Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett, which is pretty impressive.
Redshirt junior defensive end Sam Hubbard took part in Ohio State’s annual Senior Tackle last week, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s headed to the NFL after this season. Senior Tackle is a long-standing tradition at Ohio State and gives the departing seniors one last run at a tackling dummy. But it’s also much more.
Following practice on Tuesday, Ohio State assistant coaches Kevin Wilson and Kerry Coombs spoke with the media, as did players J.K. Dobbins, Mike Weber, Jamarco Jones, Tyquan Lewis, Jerome Baker, Denzel Ward, and Sam Hubbard. You can see most of what each of these players and coaches had to say in the videos below.
Big plays dot this rivalry like monuments on a battlefield. Desmond Howard’s punt return in 1991. Beanie Wells’ spin to win in the Game of the Century. The Catch by Anthony Gonzalez in 2005. Heck, former Wolverine receiver John Kolesar has an entire grove to his name. And there will likely be more plays added to a list that…
Ohio State captains J.T. Barrett, Terry McLaurin, Parris Campbell, Billy Price, Tyquan Lewis, Jalyn Holmes, Sam Hubbard, and Chris Worley spoke with the media following practice Tuesday night. They were asked about the only relevant topic in town. Here’s much of what each of them had to say.
Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano spoke with the media Tuesday night, as did quarterback J.T. Barrett, defensive end Sam Hubbard, and wide receiver Terry McLaurin. They covered the loss at Iowa as well as Saturday’s game against Michigan State. You can see most of what they had to say in the videos below.
The Buckeyes walked off the field at Penn State last year more stunned than dejected. The shock would eventually wear off and the emotions would seep in. Ohio State was able to overcome that loss and make the playoffs. They probably won’t have that same opportunity this year. If they lose, the division is lost, and so are their playoff hopes.
