The No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0, 1-0) and the No. 9 Penn State Nittany Lions (4-0, 1-0) take part in the first Big Ten East Championship Game of the year, with two or three more to follow in the next two months. The Buckeyes are favored by a field goal or so in this one, so Vegas is expecting a close one. History also…
I’m not the kind of person who touts other people’s successes, mostly because it makes me look worse than I already am, but I do feel the need to mention that six of the eight staff predictions last week nailed the TCU score within 10 points. While almost all of us did pretty well and came relatively close to the 40-28 score, the…
We are now one day from finding out just how good this Ohio State football team might be. The Buckeyes have made Oregon State and Rutgers look silly, but they’ve done it with plenty of help thanks to both the Beavers and the Scarlet Knights. This week, however, Ohio State is actually going to have to be at their best in…
Despite a large collection of intellectuals making these staff picks, nobody correctly predicted last week’s 77-31 score between Ohio State and Oregon State. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The closest picker we had was probably Brandon Zimmerman, who went with 73-13. Perhaps the 13 was a transposition on his part.
You know it’s real when the staff picks show up. How does everyone here see the game going? Well, I’ve only read my own picks, but I’m assuming there’s going to be a whole lot of Scarlet and Gray pickin’ going on. Which players will be picked to shine? Will there be any random predictions? Is there a hater among the bunch?
Well, it’s here — the final game before we can move on and start talking about the Great Quarterback Competition of 2018. But let’s not move on too quickly because this year’s Cotton Bowl looks pretty darn interesting. No. 5 Ohio State (11-2) and No. USC (11-2) meet once again in bowl season, which is really never a bad thing.
As much as some people may not want to believe it, Ohio State (probably) and Wisconsin (definitely) are likely taking part in a play-in game for the College Football Playoffs tomorrow. But the Big Ten Championship Game is about more than just making the playoffs. It’s also about — get this — winning a Big Ten Championship.
On Saturday at 12:00 pm on FOX, the No. 9 Ohio State Buckeyes (9-2, 7-1) take the field in Ann Arbor to do battle with the Michigan Wolverines (8-3, 5-3). Ohio State is a 12-point favorite and has won five-consecutive games in this rivalry. Will that winning streak continue for another year? Maybe. Do we think it will? Possibly. Here’s how we see things.
It’s the game before The Game, so while we technically still have to talk about the game, our focus is already turning toward The Game. There’s no stopping it. The No. 9 Buckeyes (8-2, 6-1) host the No. N/A Illini (2-8, 0-7) Saturday at 3:30 pm. Ohio State is favored by 41 points, but with a forecast full of wind and rain, the Buckeyes might…
Saturday is Ohio State’s final road game of the year until The Game in Ann Arbor at the end of the month. Is it a trap game? Are there any concerns about a letdown? To be honest, if the Buckeyes aren’t aware of the danger of playing at Iowa — which is basically like a giant box trap with a huge blinking neon sign that reads…
