This is a pretty huge week of games, but there is no bigger game than Penn State at Ohio State this week. The No. 2 Nittany Lions (7-0, 4-0) take on the No. 6 Buckeyes (6-1, 4-0), with Ohio State currently a 6.5-point favorite. The national media is pretty split on how they see this game going, but what do they know? What do we know? I have no idea, but here’s what we think.

Ohio State (4-1) comes into their game against Maryland (3-1) as 31-point favorites, which seems like a lot. The Terps have road wins over Texas and Minnesota, and have done that with two different quarterbacks. Getting a third road win this week, however, will be the tallest order of the season for Maryland.
Things have not gone well for Rutgers against Ohio State since the Scarlet Knights have joined the Big Ten. The Buckeyes have won the three meetings by an average score of 54-8. One week after I perfectly encapsulated the exact Army score with a staff pick of 38-7, everybody now wants a shot at the title. How do I feel about that? Well, as a great American once said, “I’m your Huckleberry.” I will not back down from a picking competition. My practice picks are so difficult that it makes the staff picks easy by comparison.
After we all nailed our week one picks, week two went… not as well. That seemed to be going around. I was the only person to predict a team’s score exactly, so I’ll declare myself the winner, but really there were no winners last weekend. Except for Oklahoma.
