Liddell (6-7 220) is the No. 48 player in the 2019 class and the No. 10 power forward in the nation per the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 1 prospect in the state of Illinois.
As a junior, Liddell averaged 20.9 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game.
In his highlights below, Liddell displays a fairly complete offensive game. He has easy 3-point range and a smooth release. He can put the ball on the floor and is under control. Liddell also has a nice post-up game that can take place near the basket or out beyond the elbow. He is able to catch and shoot from anywhere and also appears to be a strong rebounder. His ability to help on defense is also notable, as is his ability as a one-on-one defender.
Ohio State now has three verbal commitments in the 2019 recruiting class. Five-star point guard D.J. Carton (No. 24 overall) committed in July, and 4-star small forward Alonzo Gaffney (No. 39 overall) has been committed since April. Gaffney and Liddell will give the Buckeyes a pair of versatile front court players.
Carton is the No. 2 point guard in the class, while Gaffney — all 6-foot-9 of him — is the No. 8 small forward prospect in the nation.
Chris Holtmann’s class is ranked tops overall in the Big Ten at this point.
