The 2018 Ohio State football team currently has more questions than answers in a lot of phases of the game.
The running game has struggled and the defense has gotten gashed for big plays.
But the Buckeyes’ passing game is making up for all of those shortcomings.
Redshirt sophomore Dwayne Haskins threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Minnesota.
It was the second time in seven days that Haskins surpassed 400 yards passing in a game.
That was something a Buckeye quarterback only accomplished once in the first 46,906 days of the program’s existence.
The most remarkable part of the performance was how routine it already seemed.
Seven games into his first regular season as a starting quarterback, he is already ludicrously high on many categories in the Ohio State football record book – for single game, single season, and even career stats.
Here’s a look at where he ranks on every major OSU passing record.
Single Game Passing Yards
OSU Record: 458 by Art Schlichter (1981)
Haskins: 455 vs. Indiana (2nd all time) His last two games have been the 2nd and 3rd-most yards ever thrown for in a single game.
Single Season Passing Yards
OSU Record: 3,330 by Joe Germaine (1998)
Haskins: 2,331 through seven games. That already puts him in 10th place all-time. Saturday, he vaulted over Craig Krenzel’s 2002, Troy Smith’s 2005, Todd Boeckman’s 2007, and Terrelle Pryor’s 2010.

OSU Record: 33 by J.T. Barrett (2017)
Haskins: 33 vs. Indiana and Minnesota (tied school record)

Career Pass Completions
OSU Record: 769 by J.T. Barrett
Haskins: 215. Jim Karsatos is 10th all-time with 359. That is definitely within reach this season if the Buckeyes play a couple postseason games.
Single Game Completion Percentage (min. 10 attempts)
OSU Record: 100% by Tate Martell (2018)
Haskins: 87.5% vs. Tulane (21-for-24), 3rd all-time. 86.9% vs. Rutgers (20-for-23), 4th all-time. He had two of the four most accurate passing performances in OSU history in his first four starts.

Haskins: 28 so far. He is already in 5th all-time. Three more would put him ahead of Troy Smith’s 2006 and Bobby Hoying’s 1995 into 3rd place. Haskins is on pace for 50 in the regular season alone.
Career Touchdown Passes
OSU Record: 104 by J.T. Barrett
Haskins: 32. He’s not going to catch Barrett this year, but seven games into his career as a starter, Haskins is now tied for 10th all-time in career touchdown passes for a Buckeye quarterback. He in on pace to finish the postseason in second place all-time ahead of Bobby Hoying (57).

400-Yard Passing Games In A Career
Previous OSU Record: 1 by Art Schlichter
Haskins: 2 and counting. He now owns this one by himself.

Haskins can’t elud and move fast and is not a strong confident runner. That was Joe Burrow.
You mean the guy who couldn’t beat Haskins out at QB?
The poor running game and defensive struggles are going to win Mr. Haskins the Heisman. I won’t be surprised to see him have a 500 yard game before season’s end…
These records are nice, but Ohio state needs to get back to running the ball. Maybe that means putting in Tate Martell now and then to get the running game going. A good running game can control the clock and keep the opposing offense off the field and help our bad defense.
