COLUMBUS — In a game where Ohio State’s defense struggled to contain the Indiana Hoosier offense, sophomore quarterback Dwayne Haskins picked up the slack and led his team to a 49-26 victory. Although it was a rough start for the Buckeyes offensively, Haskins took control of the offense and had a record day for himself…
Don’t let the impressive 4-1 record fool you. The Hoosiers have been remarkably average in their first five football games this season. They had a nice road win against a decent Virginia team, but also lost by two touchdowns to a Michigan State team that, though ranked, has also struggled a bit this season. In the in-between, they’ve…
The Buckeyes posted their second quality win of the year and stayed undefeated with a dramatic 27-26 victory over Penn State on Saturday night. Ohio State silenced the whiteout with a 96-yard drive and some clutch defensive plays by Chase Young and others. We’re here to talk about the game, and a game this big deserves a big podcast.
“It gave the whole sideline hope.” Those were Urban Meyer’s words after Ohio State’s 27-26 come-from-behind win at Penn State Saturday night. He was talking about Binjimen Victor’s 47-yard touchdown reception with 6:42 remaining in the game. The score didn’t give the Buckeyes the lead, but it gave the a fighting chance…
It’s time for your weekly dose of the Grumpy Old Buckeye, the column producing the voice of negativity, even when things are generally pretty great. In this space, I point out the things from each game that make me want to walk out onto my lawn in my bathrobe and yell at people about it. This week we’re talking Ohio State at Penn State in a top-10 matchup.
While it is always important for new stars to emerge for college football teams, it is also imperative for established players to take a step forward and become better than they were the year before. As the saying goes, if you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse. For the Buckeyes, there are a number of players…
The No. 4 player on this list has been said to have more potential than any receiver Urban Meyer has ever coached. The physical attributes are there, but the process of bringing it all together is ongoing. Binjimen Victor nearly redshirted as a true freshman in 2016, but he did end up playing late in the season as the Buckeyes…
At 6-foot-4 and over 200 pounds, junior wide receiver Binjimen Victor is a difficult matchup for opposing cornerbacks. He proved that last year with his 23 receptions for 349 yards and seven touchdowns while splitting reps with classmate Austin Mack. Consistency, however, wasn’t ever his strong suit. Physically, Victor…
Ohio State football’s official Twitter account has release more clips from Wednesday’s action on the practice field, and a pair of true freshmen have been the focus. In the first clip below, freshman cornerback Sevyn Banks comes off of his receiver in order to go back and intercept a tipped pass from walk-on quarterback Kory Curtis.
We are a mere three days away from fall camp starting. I tend to get a little excited every year but this year seems different. The Buckeyes lost a bunch of big name players, but there just seems to be up-and-coming five-star after up-and-coming five-star ready to step in. Take a look at the defensive line where Ohio State lost…
