In this episode of the Buckeye SloopCast, Jared and Kyle have a real good time talking about the Michigan game. They recap the game, what they saw, what they liked, what they didn’t. The linebackers and offensive line stopped struggling and took it to the Wolverines for four quarters. Other topics include Chris Olave, eating…
For the first time in this column’s history, I will admit I was wrong! I spent the last week, after picking Michigan to win The Game, trying to not buy into Ohio State winning. I had all the signs in front of me: OSU was a home underdog, under Urban Meyer, in The Game, with a Michigan “guarantee” for victory. Every sign pointed…
The Michigan game may have taken place on Saturday, but it still feels like we’re in postgame mode. Or maybe it’s just me. This game was one for the ages, albeit for only one side of the battle, which may make things even better for Buckeye fans. Ohio State not only demolished the Wolverines, they ended their title hopes…
I was walking around Ohio Stadium Saturday morning and saw something I had never really seen before. There were Michigan fans actually smiling on the day of The Game. It was three hours before the game and there were more of them than I had ever seen, just milling about with an excited assuredness. It wasn’t hope, it…
It’s the regular season finale of the Grumpy Old Buckeye, the column that aims to be the voice of negativity, even when things are going great (and let’s face it, most everything was pretty great yesterday). It’s where I point out the things from each game that make me want to walk out onto my lawn in my bathrobe and yell at people about it.
Jim Harbaugh is never the most cordial college football coach, especially after a loss. Following the Buckeyes’ 62-39 romp over his favored Wolverines, that was particularly true. Two years ago, Harbaugh was so angry about the officials’ spot on a 4th-and-1 play that he got fined for his comments. Saturday, he just looked lost, as if the beatdown had left him without any possible answers…
In this episode of the Buckeye Weekly Podcast, Tony Gerdeman and Tom Orr give their instant reactions from Ohio State’s 63-39 beatdown of the Michigan Wolverines. How did the Buckeyes do it and how did Michigan help them? The fellas cover it all and answer plenty of listener questions in the process.
Ohio State spent the final Saturday of the college football regular season ritually disemboweling its bitter rival from up north. You know this already, of course, but we’re guessing that you’re probably still okay with reading and watching more about it. Just in case you weren’t aware, the Buckeyes handed Michigan a humiliating 62-39 loss at Ohio Stadium, crushing the Wolverines’ hopes at their first Big Ten championship since 2004 and their first College Football Playoff berth since… well… ever. There was a lot to take in, whether you were watching on TV or in the seats in the Horseshoe…
Saturday afternoon in Ohio Stadium with the division and — more importantly — bragging rights on the line, a big-time player stepped up in a big-time game. But this was unlike any other performance he has had this season. In a game where Ohio State was saying goodbye to three senior captain receivers, it was true freshman…
COLUMBUS — Following Ohio State’s emphatic 62-39 win over Michigan on Saturday, Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer and several players spoke with reporters. Meyer talked about the win and how it came to be. The players spoke of wanting to win for each other and a desire to send the seniors out with a victory over Michigan.
The Ohio State defense has had its share of struggles this season and given up a good chunk of yards and points of late. If the Buckeyes are going to beat Michigan on Saturday, those struggles will need to take the week off. The Wolverines will bring a versatile offense to Columbus. It can be a simple I-form on offense, or…
