This game starts off as most of us would dream. OSU drives and scores early and never really looks back from there. The game never gets out of hand, but the Bucks maintain a 7-10 point margin for much of the contest before padding that further in the final period. Dwayne Haskins goes out on top, breaking nearly…
With the rest of the country clamoring about expanding the college football playoffs, I’ve gone ahead and created my own scenario. Unlike those other conversations, this playoff system only features Ohio State teams and takes place solely in my deranged, little brain. I’m, of course, referring to a tournament placing…
2018 was a fantastic season, and one that came with plenty of excitement. The Buckeyes finished the regular season with just one loss and won a conference championship. Though the Purdue game still stings, it shouldn’t overshadow some other truly amazing moments. And, in order to make it as far as they have, preparing…
Back in July, the Hayes and Cannon brain trust looked at hours upon hours of Big Ten game film, studied fall weather patterns, evaluated player and coach tendencies, and prognosticated every single game for the conference’s football teams. Alright, truth be told, some of the guys may have gone to those lengths.
I know, I know. It’s a travesty and you’re as fired up as I am about it!! I’m referring, of course, to the Big Ten’s (coaches and media) decision to award the conference’s Punter of the Year Award to Michigan’s Will Hart and not Ohio State’s Drue Chrisman. It may not be a scandal or anything national newsworthy, but…
Last week’s edition of The Game was awesome. There’s no getting around it. I went in with guarded optimism, my weekly statistical projection giving the Buckeyes a very close victory. Instead, they dissected Don Brown’s “gameplan” like he was a middle-of-the-pack Big 12 defensive strategist. And, in just four hours, Urban Meyer turned…
Just like I had said in last week’s statistical projections… 52-51, OSU wins an overtime thriller! Alright, so that’s obviously a lie. I thought that OSU would come out and dominate Maryland from start to finish. As you saw, they did not do that. In fact, I found myself, several times, looking at the score and thinking, “Oh, wow, Maryland’s…
Chances are you probably have that guy (or girl) in your office. You know the one. Grew up in Ohio, parents are from Ohio, and everyone they know and associate with loves and roots for Ohio State. At some point in their life, probably in the mid-90s, if I were to guess, they decided to be a contrarian and root for Michigan.
Before I get into the recap and statistical projections, go ahead and allow yourself a nice, calm exhale. Ohio State did what we’ve been waiting on them to do for several weeks. They played, perhaps, their most complete game of the season and beat a ranked opponent on the road. Sure, they toppled Penn State, in…
We did it, everyone! We beat Nebraska! I’m just going to convince myself that this is the mid-90s and that our local team pulled off a stunning 36-31 victory over the Cornhuskers! It sounds better than, “We did it! We beat a team that’s now 2-7 while continuing to make a lot of the same mistakes…
