I normally start off each weekly post with a quick recap of the previous week. I’ll still give a brief list of where I was right and wrong with regards to my Purdue predictions. I will, however, opt out of the game summary. It may be Halloween, but I still don’t have the heart to scare you with a thorough recap of that mess.
Well *takes deep breath* it happened again. My statistical projections were impacted when OSU played down to its competition and was unable to separate from the Golden Gophers until late in the game. For a majority of the contest, Minnesota was within a score of Ohio State, even leading for several minutes in the second quarter.
The Buckeyes were unable to overcome a case of the Hoosiers last weekend. Sure, the good guys topped them by 23, but, as usual, it was an ugly affair. The same will not happen this weekend. OSU comes out strong, dominates on both sides of the ball, and does not allow any boats to be successfully rowed. P.J. Fleck will…
Don’t let the impressive 4-1 record fool you. The Hoosiers have been remarkably average in their first five football games this season. They had a nice road win against a decent Virginia team, but also lost by two touchdowns to a Michigan State team that, though ranked, has also struggled a bit this season. In the in-between, they’ve…
As we all predicted, Urban’s first game from the sideline was a one-sided affair. Ohio State came out fast and strong against Tulane, boosting stats and scoring 42 points in the first half without appearing to break much of a sweat. Once a comfortable lead was established, the Buckeyes essentially took a foot off the gas.
Not sure about you, but I’m still so excited from that TCU win this past weekend that I can hardly see straight. Well, it could be that, or that I’m delirious from a lack of sleep since our baby boy was born last Thursday night. Nah, it’s probably the football win. Regardless, as with most week’s stat projections, I hit on a few…
Much was made of the kickoff rule change this offseason. That change now enables a returner to signal a fair catch and receive the ball at the 25-yard line. The thought, by most, was that this would do away with Urban Meyer’s kickoff strategy altogether. Previously, Meyer would align his cover unit on one side of the field and…
One week in, and I’m feeling pretty good about this stat projection thing. Sure, I was 21 points shy on my OSU score. That minor oversight obviously skewed my touchdown tallies, making them quite a bit shy of what played out. On the other hand, I was only one yard off of my passing yardage prediction, had Haskins tossing…
